Part of a school's job is to offer students a 'home'. A 'home' is a spot where students feel comfortable and also can learn and thrive while cultivating talents and interests. Mrs. Ruth Ewigleben, Cole's Music Teacher, is providing such a home with her fourth and fifth grade choir. The Cole Cub Choir meets after school on Thursdays during the months of September and October. This offering allows students who have a passion for music to sing and to improve. The Cole Cub Choir will perform at Grandparents Day in November as a finale to their time together. At James Cole Elementary School, success is measured in multiple ways outside of standardized test scores. A thriving fine arts culture which offers many 'homes' to students is just one piece of the overall pie that is used to judge the school's success.
