3rd Grade Parade
Hillary Wycoff

Third grade students work to create parade floats to have their own version of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  With their finished products, they walk their floats around the school and parade them through the halls for all the students and staff to see.  These students spent time learning about small machines in class and how they work, and they were able to practice the skills they learned by adding small machines to their floats.  They were able to add lights, moving objects, and many other things to their floats with this STEM project.  The students held their parade the Monday before Thanksgiving, and they had such pride in their work.  Many students and staff commented on the floats and their unique features.  This is a fun tradition that the third grade students participate in, and it is special to have a small town version of a Thanksgiving parade at Cole.
