Cole Elementary Lobby Gets a Refresh
Mike Pinto

A new mural has been added to the lobby that highlights James Cole Elementary School's past. This black and white mural offers glimpses into the past of the towns of Stockwell and Clarks Hill. It also highlights the history of the school and information about the school's namesake: James Cole. This mural also shows a map indicating where the sixteen original Lauramie Township schools were located, their names, and when these buildings closed. The mural was created under the guidance of Mrs. Marks's husband, Matt Marks and Blumling Design and Graphics. The mural was paid for by the Cole PTO and an anonymous community donor. It has become an instructional look into the past and a nostalgic moment for visitors as well as becoming a source of great pride.
