Part of being a fifth grader at James Cole Elementary School involves having the privilege to raise and lower the flag that flies outside the building. Part of the journey we want each child to go through as they progress through the building is to have experiences that will teach different aspects of life and responsibility that will serve them well as adults. Our fifth-grade students participated in flag etiquette with TSC Director of Buildings and Grounds, Steve Tobias. Mr. Tobias demonstrated how to raise and lower our country’s flag. Mr. Tobias is a retired United States Marine. He served two tours in Iraq and is appreciative of the efforts given by the fifth grade teachers to teach flag etiquette. As part of his instruction to the students, he taught students how to properly unfold and fold the flag and to be respectful by taking their time in raising and lowering the flag. Thank you, Mr. Tobias and Cole Professional Academy for helping our fifth-grade students.
