Subtraction Bowling
Hillary Wycoff

All the kindergarten students got together to work on their subtraction skills in a fun and unique way.  They had the opportunity to bowl to practice subtraction from ten.  With the ten pins, the students would roll the ball to see how many pins they knocked down to subtract.  On their white boards, they would write down the equation of how many pins were knocked down subtracted from ten.  They would then find the answer together as a class.  They were also able to check their answer by counting how many pins were left up that did not get knocked down.  The students loved this activity, and it made learning how to subtract come to life.  The kindergarten students are using different every day activities to learn different skills in the classroom.
