The United Way of Greater Lafayette awarded the Tippecanoe School Corporation a $20,000 COVID Relief Grant to help provide additional mental health services for high school students. Through a partnership with Valley Oaks Health, the TSC will provide opportunities for services that remove barriers that some families face, such as lack of insurance.
TSC Mental Health Liaison Megan Ulrich says the funds will be used to provide mental health services, such as anxiety support groups, crisis case management services and intake assessments for those students who don't have insurance to cover those services.
“This generous grant from the United Way will help ensure that we are able to continue to increase access to mental health services for all of our students in the Tippecanoe School Corporation,” Ulrich says. “Parents of TSC high school students who are interested in learning more can reach out to their school counselor for more information.”
“Valley Oaks Health is thankful for the partnership with TSC in providing the important behavioral health and substance use services to our youth,” says Chief Strategy Officer, Zoe Frantz. “The commitment that TSC and Greater Lafayette United Way have made to this program will improve mental well-being of our youth for years to come.”
