TSC adjusts summer school offerings

The Tippecanoe School Corporation will offer summer school courses online for high school students already enrolled in the program. As a result of the change to a virtual format, all classes will be conducted in one session from June 1 to July 13. All elementary summer school programs, including Kindergarten Countdown are canceled.

Summer school traditionally provides high school students the opportunity to achieve their academic goals regarding credit recovery, remediation or enrichment in courses of interest. Additionally, summer school allows students greater flexibility in their regular school schedule to pursue courses in their preferred academic or career pathway.

“We had to make significant adjustments to our traditional summer school schedule given the current restrictions mandated by state and local agencies and the uncertainty of how long they will last,” says TSC Superintendent Scott Hanback. “We believe the courses offered will provide students with a viable way to work toward their educational goals.”

High school principals have notified students registered for summer courses of the changes.
