Community is a term that is used often but sometimes is difficult to illustrate. Clarks Hill Town Marshal, Scott Fisher, helped cultivate community and also brought many smiles to faces of children at James Cole Elementary School. Scott Fisher, working with Clarks Hill Community Church, Clarks Hill Town Pride, Clarks Hill Town Board, and Clarks Hill Fire Department, along with funding from the John and Ruby Parks Trust organized Christmas with a Cop that benefited 35 children. The children began their day at the Clarks Hill Fire Station for a ham and turkey dinner.

Students then boarded a bus provided by the Tippecanoe School Corporation and headed to Walmart. At the store, each child was paired with a community member to shop to spend $100 on clothing and a bit for a toy. Parents sent clothing needs, and sizes to assist the adult assigned shoppers.Afterward, each child had a chance to have their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy treats and stories being read.
