The clouds cleared and the sun came out just in time for the kindergarten and first graders at James Cole Elementary School to enjoy a fall party that coupled fun with learning. Students had a chance to ride a horse, make a s'more over a campfire, create a craft, interact with a cowboy tale adapted in the style of a fairy tale, and sing campfire songs. The kindergarten and first grade teachers, along with many happy hands-on parent volunteers, offered this experience for the students. The horse ride was a hit for many students, the songs were a lot of fun, and the homemade s'more was a favorite. In the end, the students had a great experience, developed some background knowledge they didn't previously have, and had a lot of fun.
